Australia’s largest renewable energy event, Clean Energy Week 2013, kicked off in Brisbane yesterday. The official conference starts today, with Queensland Minister for Energy, Mark McArdle, and Chief Executive of the Clean Energy Council, David Green, among the opening speakers.

The week, organised by the CEC, includes latest news on renewable energy policy initiatives and technology developmenets, award programs, a large trade exhibition, and a debate on the topic of “rethinking energy”.


Breakout sessions will include:

  • Analysing Clean Energy Markets
  • Carbon Market Opportunities
  • Smart Energy Future
  • Financing Clean Energy Projects
  • Large-Scale Solar Market Developments
  • Technology Innovation in Solar PV
  • Energy Efficiency and Demand-Side Management

A Gala Dinner will include keynote speaker Russel Howcroft, known for his role on The Gruen Transfer, a popular advertising/marketing program on the ABC. He will share his knowledge and thoughts of the renewable energy industry in what should be a very entertaining and insightful appearance.

Other speakers include  new Federal Minister for Climate Change, Mark Butler, Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change, Innovation and Industry, Hon Yvette D’Ath MP and Leader of the Australian Greens, Senator Christine Milne.

Last years event was held in Sydney and attracted over 2500 local and international delegates. This years event is expected to be even bigger.
